The Quest for Hainanese Chicken Rice

If my memory serves me right, I was able to try Hainanese Chicken rice the first time at NAIA terminal three, some two years ago. It was a family trip to Bohol, and you know how I always feel starved every five minutes, so I went for a walk and stumbled into a few stalls selling Chinese food. And there, the stall called it White Chicken and it was only lately when I learned that it really is called Hainanese Chicken.

From then on, I would have a monthly dose of chicken rice from Maxim's Tea House in Megamall, since there's no Northpark restaurants are quite scarce in Mandaluyong area. So last week being my scheduled chicken rice week sojourn, to my surprise and horror, I went to Maxim's Tea House and it was already closed down. :( Not even a notice if it were transferred somewhere else inside the mall, just a few wood covers indicating that it's being renovated.
This incident really got to me that I had to cheer myself up by shopping for a few things, which is very wrong in all levels!Anyway, what's done is done.
Fast forward to this week, specifically last Monday. I again went to Mega Mall to grab a few stuff for my interview the following day. Because I swung by F21 to see if there are things worth buying, or to drool if I may put it.There it was, almost across F21 was Orchard Road staring me in the face with the photo of Hainanese Chicken rice seemed to be standing out from the rest of the menu.

No words will be more appropriate to explain the feeling, I could only say that there's been an epiphany of sorts. You know, angels singing Allelujah and the clouds suddenly parting to let in a ray of white light. Just like what we see in cartoons.

Turns out, it's a Chinese fastfood

I love those colored dividers

Whatever that veggie is the taste is simply divine. I'm definitely coming back there.
After my mini feast, I stepped out the resto with the biggest smile I've had in months. Glorious food, how will I be able to elude you when you seem to be coming to me in all directions?

I've added a few more to try restos in my list weeks ago and soon as time permits, I'm so swinging by them. Chocolate Fire in Salcedo and Kanina Club in Techno hub do wait for me next week. ♥

PS. Tomorrow's entry will be something I've put a few thoughts on for weeks now.
