"If I can't have it, neither can you.."-crab mentality group report why do we people feel the need for someone to fall when they're at the height of their success?
consciously or not, we often find ourselves wishing that we're on their spot because we're far more better than that person.
then a question suddenly strikes us..
why was he having all the glory which we're supposed to enjoy?or should i say we're entitled to enjoy according to our personal judgments..
this is what we call, CRAB MENTALITY
when defined,, it pertains to our reaction when— we'd rather bring down the next guy than see the team win.
This can be rooted to envy, which tries to impinge due to the excessive desire to posssess something which doesn't belong to you.
"This ethnocentric spirit has been around since time immemorial. People who want progress and betterment would always be pulled down by others who want to claim that glory thus making the endeavor unsuccessful and the whole pack suffers."quoted
A lot of us have the propensity to suffer from this kind of trait when the repeated feeling of rejection and being disregarded. This thinking would be the last resort to be able to impose an equal set up or to maintain a staus quo which we apparently are being left out.
Seeing the downfall of a foe or a friend clandestinely gives us to schadenfreude, in effect this emotion incurs selfishness and unwarranted verdict leading to a stagnant and unprogressive society.
in order for a person to dismiss this notion was to instilll in his consciousness that though life is matter of survival from monstrous beings, one should always bear in mind that competition within the self and not with others is the healthiest competition ever devised by the human mind.
Eventually with this in mind a person has the cpaacity to be productive in his own repects enabling him to gain more prominence and value in the society of attaining something out of pure hard work and not at the expense of others.
actually this claim should be questionned for it implies injustice to the crabs, according to sir Agui. For it was he crab's natural instinct to pull down the other crabs when in a container like a bucket in order to o be able to leave the bucket, for its clams are directed only upwards cause not like other crustaceans crabs don't have this special skill to rotate their clams.
brain drain!
the quiz in Philo was pretty easy cause he only asked for the basics which he has already discussed for a couple of times or so,, and that the readings itself that he assigned us to review were quite easy to comprehend making us feel comfortable while reviewing for the exam..which eventually lead to proper understanding of the handouts.
the freaky part of it was what transpired during the actual exam, Shucks! i ws freaking brain drained!! as Sir Baccay ws dictating the question,, my mind begun to function trying its best to extract from my itself all the knowledge I would be needing to be able to finish the exam.
while my mind was processing, I felt so confused that i couldn't barely understand the questions, fgood thing I made use of my scribbling ability and after some tme of processing I was able to scribble some facts on a scratch paper which i usually do during the commencement of an exercise/activity.
By some stroke of my inability to recall things sequentially, this scribbling could be used as a good help for me to understand all the things that I 'might' not remember again. And also a factor of formality's sake, so at least I would know what are the things that I would write, how my stream of thoughts should flow as I put it in black and white,,
basically I was freakin' brain drained during the exam,, I was frowning so bad and Ive been scratching my face for the first 20 mins due to my scribbling-organization of thoughts thingy.. :)
if only Sir Baccay settled in giving us true or false type of quiz, I guess it could somehow lessen his burden of having to read long paragraphs cause I believe that it was easier to correct than essay's which would eat up most of his time on the aspect of extensively reading the students' answer.
stellar report!
anne and together with dj, kirst, judy and ate madel had their report about the circulatory system! though they haven't finished the reporting yet perhaps due to time constraints and the complexity of their topic.
as kristine puts it, "Si anne communicative speaker, ako authoritative, si judy pacute"
I certainly agree,,these three friends of mine are unique in their own respects, enabling them to complement each other. but going back to anne.. this girl never fails to amaze the crowd when she starts talking in front.
being a communicative speaker, upon listening to her you won't learn things just because she imposed it onto you but because she was able to elaborate it on an interesting manner. every aspect of her persona contributes with the easy understanding of her report---- her diction, posture, aura, confidence with her topic and also her strategy of imparting her knowledge.
according to her,"lam mo mommy nung tiniginan nga kita tuwang tuwa ka eh.. para bang gusto mong sabihin na 'anak ko yan!' stage mother!" Im just so proud and happy for her! but sadly though there are persons who are thinking ill of her.. but girl this I can say don't let them be the obstacle for you to perform good each time!:)
to describe my dearest friend anne..
she's really the type of person who always gives her best at times when she was given an opportunity to do so.
how did you know?!
It makes me think how did you know that I cried?! but then you're right I really did,, and appreciate the fact that you asked. it was so unexpected! Im happy to feel that you're concerned about me.
im trying to be civil with them, cause i took your advice!
I think depression is normal, the way you handle it justifies its abnormality! do you agree?!
exc'z
* I think I have the right to put the blame you,, cause i know within myself that I was a victim of the situation. nevertheless its over,, so lets just forget that issue!ok?!
*Thanks to Howie, Judy and Krsitine for listening to my sentiments,,and for the good advices that you gave me.. i know my faults and I intend to change for the better.. gradually..
*Anne and I went to SM to buy her bedazzled vcd, then we ate lunch together! i missed hangin out with her haven't done that for quite a while!
