Decisions, decisions, decisions

While I am not dismissing the fact that my friends are only after my welfare and my soul's redemption in the after-life, there is one thing that I'm confused if I failed to elaborate with them or they just chose to overlook.

I don't like, I mean, I ABHOR being pushed to do things which under wonderful nor uncompromising situations I won't risk nor consider doing. Everybody knows that. My life is governed by one person and that is MYSELF.
I do what I want, how I want it to be, when I want it done and predominantly, why I want it done.

I like making decisions for my life. Plainly because I intend to hold myself accountable for every outcome it brings. Even at the cost of my convenience and regardless of my evident impetuousness, there's always this unseen, hovering assurance in every choice I myself made. Especially upon knowing that I made them without having to cause unwanted burden to someone else.

If I happen to be a lame duck opting for the lesser things in life by means of half-baked choices, then that has to be my burden to bear. Not my Mom's, not my friend's and most importantly, not my boyfriend's. If a mess turns up, I would like to proudly stand up against it, chin up and proud that I got off the mishap myself.

At the risk of sounding presumptuous, dependence to me is somewhat synonymous to blame-switching. And the mere thought of subjecting someone to such dilemma makes me feel uncomfortable and at the same time, irresponsible. It's absolute crap! And Jesus Christ, it's not me! Lifting the anchor and having somebody else do the rowing is too miserly a picture!

Now my friend, I'd like to think that you mean no harm with your words. But this is my life. So I get to play it the way I want it to be. Blabber all you want, but hell, I just don't care. Right now, I am determined to keep the solace and the calmness brought by this long-standing status quo. Let's not break the pattern yet shall we?

Just venting.

Kthnksbye

Dearest

Two months ago, i've been dying to get into your company.

Unfortunately, the odds have changed and I don't exactly feel the same way right now. I'm good here at WE. Unless of course, if you can overshadow the travel privileges I am bound to experience here, that would be a different matter altogether. And reconsidering your offer may not be that far from happening.

Until then, thanks but no thanks.

Eclipse-d

(I know I said that my succeeding entry is supposed to be about something I made every effort to cook, but this is a matter of interest for everybody. LOL For the twi-hards most especially. I'll get on my foodie entry tomorrow at best.)

The Plan
Watch Eclipse on Saturday with Paoper.

What Happened
Finished watching it minutes ago with him after having dinner, ice cream and some little chat.

The Verdict
The moment I stepped out the movie house, there's this guy who seemed to have jerked from somewhere and without hesitation interjected to his friends:
"Nararamdaman mo bang unti-unti ng nagkakain-love-an si Edward at Jacob" followed by a big roar of laughter.
I can't condemn the mockery, for I cannot defend the film as a whole against my very own ridiculing self.

Its horrendous. An absolute mistake. Poorly written and badly executed.

You see, I have developed a somewhat love-hate relationship with the book. Loved all the action and sappy lines of Edward. But I abhorred, beyond words, the part when Bella (being overly selfish) wanted both by also falling inlove with Jacob.

I was hopeful when I entered the cinema, though carrying in my thoughts the notion that it wouldn't, it couldn't fall exactly the same as the book. I still set my standards, firm and implacable.(now don't go around giving me an eyebrow raise) It's inevitable. Particularly if you've read all books for five times, and at one point gone mad over them, like I did.

Maybe I expected a lot, hell I'd bet I'm not the only one. After much publicity that the Eclipse' director would be the same one as Narnia, I can only anchor its result to utter perfection. Looked forward to this installment so much only to be failed. Only to be disappointed. Only to wish I hadn't seen it.

I was kind of taken aback during the opening scene though. When some fairly attractive blonde guy went out a pub into the drizzling dark night, only to be suddenly attacked by an unseen enemy - who no one else is Victoria. That I would have to give props to them.

What I Fancied:

*The scene of Charlie and Bella talking about sex and being safe. Funnier than the books' depiction.
*Bella's wayfarers when she's with Rene by the beach.
*The twist they added when the Volturi seemed to have intentionally allowed the mayhem created by Victoria to take its course.
*Bree. In fact I can't wait for the fifth book. I never imagined her to be so lethal yet vulnerably cute.
*Lemme just say that replacing Rachelle LeFevere was a few of Summit's best ideas. Though she's a beauty, Bryce Howard is what the movie depicts, a fierce yet gentle face capable of luring victims under her command.
*The tent scene. Could've regarded the editing of that part the same with indie-low-cost films. Perhaps it's the editing, or the sound, or the lacking yet supposed to be present thundering storm outside. Notice how calm it was inside when the dudes are having their brokeback moment. Still I loved it, probably 3 out of 5 kind of love. 'Twas Edward's knee-wobbly smile and sultry hazelnut eyes paired with the tight shots that did the trick.
*There are a handful of mushy scenes that got to me, most of which reflected Edward's ever fervent love for Bella.

What ticked me off:

*Jessica ended up being the valedictorian, when she's been nothing but a shallow, jealous and pretentious character during the past installments. The book says the valedictorian is a guy right?
*Much as I hate to say this but, Regina was right, Edward indeed appeared to be some make-out-with-me props for Bella.
*And speaking of making out. The film, oh my god. The movie has too much of it. Way too much that it could've won a subtle porn film award for the teeny boppers. Everyone practically went on kissing their partners, I mean what the crap? It totally felt like making out was central to the film, when it shouldn't be the case. The whole film must have evoked courage and alliance, okay fine, some love, jealousy and competition ideally. It's not to be taken as a license to do a kissing fiesta or what have you.
*They turned a chick-flick into a dick-flick(lots of smooching, cuddling and action with less heart-warming, breathtaking, jaw dropping cheesy scenes. I've honestly waited for those, could be the reason why I'm rambling negative thoughts right now.)
*On top of it all. God, I know this shouldn't be said but I just wish in their very best way, they made an act to weave the story. To be somewhat faithful to the book. To tie lose ends.
*What they rather did was to jump from one scene to another, without properly building the story, was there any?

Something else
My lips began to pucker and my eyes infinitely rolled from the first five minutes until the fighting part.

My "date" on the other hand appeared to have not enjoyed the movie as well. I wanted to pat him in the back as I shot glances his direction. He seemed so confused, trying to decipher silently how each part led to the other. And in the effort of being a good friend, I gently turn to him each time I feel he's losing it- so to speak. It's pretty much conspicuous in my peripheral vision, when his brows begin to narrow or when he suddenly shifts to lean toward me as if to ask what just happened, only to pull back and straighten his position once more.

Poor guy. Lucky me I read the book, pity him he didn't.

Summit has got to admit the fact that they cannot deliver. Three flops in a row? They've got to be kidding me. I wish some rich, capable production company snatches the franchise from them and gives justice to the fourth installment. Please, please make that happen.

Bottomline is, there wasn't any conversion that took place. I still wanted a super spy for a boyfriend not a vampire (cause Edwards hotness and Riley's potential didn't make it to the cut. Though I wanna make it known that i'm still Team Edward). That pretty much says it all.

PS. On a different note, you telling me you're getting married in one year and a half is quite a bad news. I'll miss everything about you, about us.
How we do the things we love, the company, the friendship and you being above my two bestfriend and my ex-boyfriend. You're always physically present as you guide me through all the hardships I've had. I never wanted that to end, us to end, even though I knew this day would come. I wish I could change things, but even if I could, I don't know if i'd still want to. Your happiness is what's important, congratulations in advance.

A little politics

I'm not really that old but I believe I'm old enough to decide who to vote.

I have been educated in a reputable school and I believe that my  logical and critical abilities have been honed to discern facts from  fiction. Maybe not spotlessly, but my course trained me to process information in such a way that non-communication majors don't do(bragging not intended).

Nobody really liked politics, I am speaking from an average person's  vantage point here.

Anyone would have said its shit, other than those people who benefit along with the position.

If you're someone from a middle class family, just like me, whose ultimate  goal is to survive from the ever increasing day-to-day expenses. Trust me, you won't really bother.

With the presidential election looming, the debates are all over on who's the ideal person to grab the highest position of the state.

I say, sharing political thoughts is tolerable but dragging someone over to your side is unacceptable. Especially if the given justifications are insipid of logic and if it only follows mainstream thoughts.

* just wanted to air some thoughts, I really hate it when come people come to me and start bashing politicians with justifications as ridiculous as the mainstream thoughts of those people engaging into black propaganda through text. Come on, use your head and think about this:

Every politician has their flaws, it's only up to us to choose which flawed one we could put up with for the next six-years, granted that he's not ousted on the first sign of those flaws. :p

Laugh it all off

Generally speaking, Filipinos are naturally humorous.

We laugh about pretty much anything, the daily rants of our parents, the irreparable and sinking government,  the pretentious intellectual boss, the timeless heavy traffic along EDSA, the devastation brought by the typhoon Ondoy and to some extent our stagnant lives. For some weird reason, we have this special skill to not let the problems weigh upon us and divert our attentions to more lighter thoughts.

This is what justifies why we're among the happiest people all over the world.

Read and be amazed how we Filipinos even in a very serious matter-- such as our source of income we cannot help but be uber FUNNY.
