The long wait has ended

"With that investigating and mysterious theme, I say that's my kind of film," this lines lingered inside my head when I first got a sight of the Shutter Island trailer late last year. Watch it here, and  I promised to myself that I would see it no matter what it takes. Unfortunately, the film's release has been hampered several times for loads of reasons, that its showing has been dated to this week instead of roughly six months ago.

Here's my brief review of the film:

A gripping film from start to finish. Though drizzled with a tad of loose ends, the film is  skillfully crafted to lead the audience into the delusional world of Teddy (Leonardo Di Caprio). Brain-knacking and suspense filled at it's best. Misunderstood and under appreciated, Scorsese's twisting ploys and quick maneuvers got some moviegoers tangled up between reality and fantasy.  Shutter Island requires one not to blink an eye so as not to miss every element of the movie. The details, the plot, the musical scoring, the effects and the acting makes the film almost entirely worth the wait.

Gotti's!

Heard so much about it from my close friend Jairuz. How they serve the best tasting pasta and the fact that it's his favorite resto in Mega Mall, that he won't let any visit at the mall without grabbing a meal there. I just allowed his influence to seep in yesterday after the movie, since I feel like I wanted to try another pasta meal after my earlier creamy cheesy penne breakfast at Banapple.

Rvi and I pigged out and it was a great experience.

food for two

Frutti Di Mare

Creamy Basil Bacon

Gambineri something

Butter cinnamon crespelle

According to the menu, we only ordered a regular sized dish but turns out they serve big dishes. Ah, the food was glorious. Now' I've a new fave pasta place.

Baked Soap: Soap factory
Several times I've passed by the window of this shop but only yesterday did I have the guts to enter and I was amazed to see what's inside.

Cupcake designed soaps, hearts, donuts and several food inspired baked soaps are found inside. The store's aroma is relaxing, the mixing scent of fruits and other fragrances is just so soothing that I can't help but hop and smell each soap from every rack that I see.

What to love:
-The idea of baked soap in several food designs is so original, I've seen other soap shops with shredded soaps and all which I think is plainly uncreative.
-They have this poster beside each rack with the descriptions of every available soap, their potential benefits and its ingredients.
-Their soaps come in two prices: one for wholesale and the other for regular price. Since hygiene should be on top of the list of every person these days not only for the sake of vanity but for health reasons as well, this would be a very useful and cheap gift item.
-Loads of options to choose from, they've different racks for every category. For instance there's this rack for fruit scented soaps, there's also another for skin care and their specialty country-inspired soaps.

I am a sucker for items with enticing and pleasant aromatic smell and these soaps are the best example of it. Took me around 30 minutes to decide which soap to purchase as I weighed in the benefits, the scent and of course the color of every soap.lol With my current sunburn problems, I opted for the Big Ben soap for its cooling and antioxidant elements.
