The most controversial person in the country...

.. none other than.. our own president!!

why was she controversial??! Who wont know about it?? i mean in every corner of the street, in every text message being spread, in every newspaper, in every news channels, in every mouth of every FILIPINO.. they were talking about it!!even the death of then pope and cardinal sin.. the jueteng scandal and the jose pidal case wont even reach the level of this very controversial issue for every filipino..

the very famous gloria-gate tape!it has already been spread in every means. By ringtones, by songs, by text messages, by emails and even by impersonations.. if im listening to the diffusing news right.. most of the people in the country assume that the tape contains a conversation of the president and a comelec official.. whom our president is ASKING what was her stand in the southern region of the country during the last years’ election!

A lot of versions of the tape has shown up and a lot of personality started to gain fame by claiming that they were kidnapped,, that they have the mother of all tapes, that they know who wire tapped the conversation and a whole lot more... like for instance is sgt. Vidal doble, samuel ong, virgilio garcillano and even kit tatad who claims that he was the one who handed Mr. ong the master of all tapes..

You would hear a lot of stories.. different versions,, varying opinions and violent reactions.. but the most popular was the story that GMA wasn’t asking the comelec official,,instead she was really checking whether the official was able to add uup some votes to for her.. but until now the president has already been judged as a cheater and a lot more.. but the truth was still vague for the mediamen, the congress and most especially the people in the country who are the ones’ gravely suffering in this present crisis..

Assumptions, questions and suppositions everywhere.. but it was somehow sufficed when the president asserted that it was her voice that was in the wire tapped conversation..and asked for the public’s forgiveness... i dont know what was her reason for breaking her silence but whtever it is.. the people started to be filled with grudge when that message of her was ired over the televeision..

The next day its as if.. everything was already proven.. THAT OUR ELECTED (IF THAT’S WHAT YOU CAN CALL HER!) PRESIDENT CHEATED!!! Tricked the whole FILIPINO race.. rallies and rallies started to form everywhere.. banners of GMA all over the place.. speeches from different known personality started to surface.. and of course the hous of representatives investigation started.. which i beleieve would be the end of her..

And never forget the very emotional message of Susan Roces about GMA’s affirmation of her voice in the tape .. the famous line.. “you stole the presidency,,, not just once but twice!!!!” the aggravtion could be seen in her angelic face.. maybe the feeling of unjust use of power.. and of course the grief she was feeling that her lost husband was cheated!!

Lets reminisce the memories of FPJ,, well given the chance that i was on the right age to vote last year.. i wont vote for FPJ also.. why?! Simply because if he becomes our president.. our country would be like huge “showbusiness” full of rumors, revolving in money and just a short time type of government! Who would want to vote a person who hasn’t even tried to be a givernor or even a mayor!! What can he do if he doesn’t have expereience ayt??! That’s the problem with us Filipinos,, we dont prioritze certain criterions in voting for a person who would be our countrys’ leader.. we just base things on POPULARITY!! Its sad .. but true.. just like what happened with Erap Estrada.. i suppose FPJ has a lot of supporter because a lot of person assume that if he wins it would be easier for them to manipulate him in ruling our country.. which i think is really bad!!!!

And now back again to PGMA,, just now.. she asled all of her cabinet members to resign.. because she would appoint a new set which she thinks could help her in uplifting our weakening economy.. a lot of people are rallying at this point at Paseo de Roxas in makati city.. and the withdrwal of support of the Makati Business Club.. the neutrality of the armed foces of the philippines which is a good sign oif professionalism.. and lastly the messages of Fidel Ramos and Cory Aquino.. which opposes each other... a lot of people has been asking her to step down the position... but why was it that she seems to be too confident not to step down.. up to the extent of having press conference and her idea of assigning a new set of cabinet officers..??!!

Why!?????? Haven’t she thought that when she said sorry its almost the same as saying i did something wrong??! Is it maybe because she has a hidden plan which the public doesn’t know??? Because who would risk to admit that it was my voice in a wire tapped conversation like that.. what was her reason?!? Does she still believe that she could still clear her filthy name??? her credibility according to surveys has been way below what i expect to be?? Was she hearing all the people’s cries of her to resign or was she just playing deaf... eventhough the persons who are telling those stuffs used to be her alliances!??! Would she suffer the same fate as estrada had which she lead??.. being ousted through people power.. or impeached or would she resign..??! the answers to these questions were left to be answered a couple of days from now..

Maybe she doesn’t want to resign because she doesn’t want to be house arrested like estrada.. i mean we know that its awkward to say that no president cheated in the respective elections they have won to.. i believe evryone did that.. but i guess it was just ill-fated of GMA to be wiretapped and be traced to deceive the people during the last election.. its kinda sad.,. since she’s a woman and I know that somehow Mrs. Aquino sympathized her last week, because she’s also a woman but just a while ago she told her to sacrfice and resign to help this country of ours..

Or maybe because she’s afraid to lose her immunity from administrative criminal cases which would be filed against her if she resigns as the presdent..

Supposedly the successor of GMA “if” she resigns would be our vice president Noli.. but others say that they wont let him be the next president.. that they would also oust him.. others refer that we should start a parliamentray form of government.. but what was the right thing to do?? That we wont know until the president steps down.. then we should start risng from this crisis we just encountered..

What is happening in our country right now.. for me is a test for our unity.. so i guess its about time that we show some love for our country.. that we should start to care what’s best for all and not for the few.. that we should start to be responsible enough of our own actions.. that we should initiate in working together to uplift our drowning country’s economy..!!

“We should start to think less of ourselves and more of the others”

“that our country is a rule of law and not of men..”

“that we can only do something if we are united..”

and lastly..

“we should learn to be responsible enough of how we act because everything we do mirrors what we can do for our country..”


I know the betrayal of the public’s trust by our president was really wrong.. but i hope we can resolve it peacefully, humanely and constitutionally.. i really hope so...
